I had such a great stay at the Pali Hotel San Diego! From the moment I arrived, Renee made me feel welcome with her warm and attentive service—she really went above and beyond to make my visit easy and enjoyable. The hotel has a nostalgic charm that feels different from the usual downtown spots. I loved the vintage touches, cozy design, and the fun little bowls of candy sprinkled throughout the property. The rooftop bar and overall vibe make it a really unique place to stay. Overall, a memorable experience with great service, character, and small details that make you smile. I’ll definitely be back!

Staff was amazing and accommodating. Special shoutout to Kimberly for checking us in and making our anniversary trip so special, she was awesome!! The renovations were beautiful. Vibe was super classy and cute. Location is everything if you are staying downtown San Diego, and it was perfect walking distance to almost anything downtown and, if needed, the trolley in Gaslamp. Smaller rooms, but really perfect for a couple. Quiet and intimate boutique hotel despite the bustling city outside. I would recommend grabbing parking at one of the many nearby garages. They did a great job making our vacation a true experience. The guest only rooftop was a highlight!! Wish it was open later at night, as they close it around 9pm. Overall, this stay exceeded our expectations. Can’t wait to come back.

Well I for one loved having a room with no windows. Ya boy slept like a rock which was a huge plus after coming off 30hrs of travel. The rooms are small & there’s noise from the road on Floor 2 but white noise got the job done. I had a problem with shower not turning off but maintenance came up right away. They were super friendly & went above & beyond to not just get it turned off but fixed right away. Overall great stay. Would recommend.

Enjoyed our quick stay! We loved the hotel's aesthetic and appreciated that they kept the history of the building intact! Rooms were small, but cozy and clean. The rooftop deck is absolutely amazing and a must during your stay! Would recommend/stay again the next time we're in the the downtown area.

Great price and location in a big city! The rooms are small but beautifully appointed and comfortable with quality linens. The decor is so unique, the hotel feels like an experience rather than just a place to sleep. You can walk or uber anywhere in the downtown area with ease. $30 uber to the airport. We will definitely stay here again.

I will say that the hotel is more quaint then the Photos show. There are old elevators but I think it adds to the charm. The reviews I feel are harsh, you’re staying in the middle of a huge nightlife area, why would you expect your stay to be quiet? Or why would you expect a super big room in the middle of a huge city? I believe I had a good experience due to research I understood my options if it wasn’t this hotel it would be a trashy motel in the area, for Gaslamp this is a wonderful hotel. I also was able to find valet included in the room price you just have to go to their home page, it made parking way more affordable. Also if you sign up for the newsletter you get a really good discount. I am very young but the second I walked into the hotel the reception treated me like any other patron. Since I was celebrating a birthday they were also kind enough to upgrade the room. The rooftop alone was enough for me to think this hotel was worth the stay. Although the pristine rooms (which mattered a lot as I’m a clean freak and hate staying in hotels) and comfy beds definitely made this stay worth my while.

The building's exterior is a delightful nod to the past, and the elevator is a relic that requires more muscle than modern convenience. If you're lugging suitcases, prepare for a workout and a lesson in patience. Our first attempt at using the elevator was a comedy of errors, but we managed to master it on the second try. The room was small but cozy enough for a one-night stand with history. Closet space is a shared affair with a mini bar, coffee machine, and vault crammed in. The bathroom setup is a quirky split, with a vanity in the bedroom and a snug toilet and shower. A bathrobe adds a touch of faux luxury, but the view from the window is a direct gaze into another apartment. A bit strange but the shutters kept the view out of sight. The floors creak, and the noise from fellow guests is a constant reminder of the building's age. The vibe is undeniably charming, with decor that whispers luxury, but the historical quirks are part of the package. Parking is free if you dare the streets, or $85 for valet. Service is great. Very friendly, professional and helpful staff. Just the part about the elevator could have been explained a little better at check in.

Walking through the front door feels like stepping back in time to the most charming and sweetest hotel. From check-in to settling into the cozy room, every moment was delightful. The dinner was fantastic, and the rooftop bar offered stunning views that made the evening even more special. The staff was so attentive and eager to help if any issues came up – they truly made us feel cared for. A perfect one-night stay that I would definitely recommend for a memorable and magical getaway!
